Ute Prayer Trees of the Pikes Peak Region

Presented by Pikes Peak Library District at Manitou Springs Heritage Center

John Anderson, author and historian, will give a slide presentation about the cultural and historical significance of the Ute Prayer Trees in the Pikes Peak region. There will also be a display of paintings of Ute Prayer trees.

These culturally modified trees are believed to have been cultivated between 150-450 years ago, and they are found throughout Colorado.

Mr. Anderson will also provide information on where you can see these trees in the Colorado Springs area.
