Downtown Partnership Speaker Series: Jeff Speck

Jeff Speck is a city planner and urban designer who advocates internationally for more walkable cities. As director of design at the National Endowment for the Arts from 2003 through 2007, he presided over the Mayors’ Institute on City Design. His book “Walkable City” was the bestselling city-planning book of 2013-14. The lecture is the second in the “City Center Series,” a new speaker series launched by Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs featuring national thought leaders in urbanism, innovation, placemaking and design. Downtown Partnership is the lead nonprofit organization ensuring that Downtown Colorado Springs serves as the economic, cultural and civic heart of the city.
