Pikes Peak Jazz And Swing Society will host the Triple Play Quartet + Surprise Guests for their February Jazz Affair.
Triple Play is the jazz quartet that features Trip Ziegler on piano, Dave Hardin on drums, Patrick Abbott on bass and Tom Fowler on saxophone. The quartet has performed at local and regional jazz clubs and concert venues for more than three years. Triple Play’s repertoire includes standards from the great American songbook, jazz standards and original compositions composed by the quartet. So put on your dancin’ shoes and join them for the second Sunday Valentine’s celebration that will feature the quartet along with some terrific surprise guest artists.
The highlight of the afternoon will be the presentation of the annual ‘Alice Award’ which honors area musicians who must possess a high degree of musical talent and experience but must also display those attributes that can only be described as “class.” This year’s ‘Alice’ will be given posthumously to Alan Joseph and accepted by Alan’s wife, Jana Lee Ross.
There will also be dancing, door prizes, a cash bar plus a full buffet and dessert bar available for purchase.
Tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for society members and are available at the door.
