“Solid Metaphor” is an exhibit featuring two artists blending contemporary realism and figurative expressionism.
G44 Gallery is extremely proud to present “Solid Metaphor” a collaboration with the highly acclaimed artist Rick Berry and Denver artist Michael Dowling.
The opening reception is on February 16 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Rick Berry is a contemporary American expressionistic figure artist. His painting are in public and private collections including Tufts University, and those of noted authors Stephen King, Neil Gaiman and George R.R. Martin. In addition to gallery art Berry’s award winning work for popular culture is in numerous science fiction, fantasy and comic books, used in film and live theater. Berry’s style evokes Abstract Expressionism with its visceral textures, but, ultimately, he reigns in his wild paint strokes to create recognizable human shapes addressing evolution and heroism. Working in the Boston area since 1980s. He started his career as a teen collaborating in an underground comics studio right here in Colorado Springs!
Michael Dowling is a contemporary realist painter and is a rising star in the Colorado art scene. Michael shows nationally and is represented in Colorado, California, Miami, New York, and Montreal. His work is in numerous private and public collections throughout the US and Europe.
Together these artists present “Solid Metaphor”, an exhibition contemplating the future of evolution or humanity and idea. Their work explores movement and emotion – all things that relate and embody the human experience.
