The 28th Annual Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival is November 13-15, 2015. The Festival is the longest continuous-running women’s film festival in North America. It showcases documentary, narrative shorts and animated films that are thought-provoking and enriching, and that encourage global awareness and personal growth.
The Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival honors films and filmmakers that present the world as women experience it and that inspire curiosity, educate, entertain, and stimulate conversation. Films will be screened throughout the weekend at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center (FAC), Colorado College Armstrong Hall, Cornerstone’s Richard F. Celeste Theater, and in Cornerstone’s more intimate Film Screening Room. As always, the weekend will kick-off Friday evening with our Opening Night Gala at 6:30 p.m. followed by our opening line-up at the Fine Arts Center. Films will begin Saturday morning at 8:30 and Sunday morning at 9:00. We are fortunate each year to host more than 10 of our featured filmmakers.
Be sure to take advantage of this opportunities by attending the Filmmaker’s Forum on Saturday, or purchasing a ticket for Sunday’s Roundtable Luncheon. Finally, our Festival strives to make these fantastic films accessible to everyone in our community by hosting free screening of select films in days prior to the festival. Be sure to check out the Festival in the Community schedule to find local screenings at a community venue near you. When travel arrangements allow, the filmmaker will be present for a Q&A session following the film screening. These screenings are free and open to the public (unless otherwise noted due to venue restrictions).
