Visiting Series in Film and Culture: 'LA 92'

Presented by Colorado College at Colorado College - Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center Film Screening Room

Twenty-five years after the verdict in the Rodney King trial sparked protests, violence, and looting in Los Angeles, “LA 92” immerses viewers in that tumultuous period through stunning, rarely seen footage.

Co-director T.J. Martin, a director, cinematographer, and editor, is the first African American to win the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, for 2012’s “Undefeated.”

Lead Assistant Editor Ryan Loeffler’12 worked hand in hand with him and the producers to create this spectacular all-archival documentary film, which brings a fresh perspective to a pivotal moment in American history.

“LA 92” premiered at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival.
