Colorado Springs, CO — The entertainment center, formerly operated as Brunswick Zone XL, has completed the rebranding process and is now The Summit. Since construction in 2012, the land, building and all of the equipment inside has been locally owned by Summit Companies, Inc, a Colorado development company with 30 years of building projects on the Front Range. The Summit is now operated by Performance Entertainment, a spinoff LLC of Summit Companies, Inc.
“We built the Brunswick design on Interquest Parkway and entered into an agreement with Brunswick to operate the facility,” said Summit Companies President, Dennis Schavietello. “Since then we built our own design in Windsor, CO which serves all of northern Colorado and we’ve been operating quite successfully since we opened almost a year ago.”
In the fall of 2014, Brunswick sold all of its retail operations to BowlmorAMF and has since sold off its products division thereby completely removing itself from the bowling industry. “With all of the turmoil caused by the Brunswick exit, we were concerned for our employee and guest satisfaction and the long-term viability of the business. One thing lead to another, and here we are, happily running the business,” Schavietello added.
Performance Entertainment started operating the Interquest facility on April 20th of this year, and has been coordinating the rebranding since then. “We were very fortunate to have retained every team member and we continue to hire additional fun people,” said Don MacBrayne, Chief Operating Officer and long-time executive in the business. “The rebranding process has gone as planned.”
The Summit brand is less “Kidertainment” and more appealing to adults looking for a more stylish place to have fun on dates and with friends. The lighting is improved, the walls and floors are darker with much less reliance on primary colors. The kids still love it, but now there is much more adult appeal and ambiance. However, the biggest focus is on the food, beverage and service. “We’ve taken much of our menu from the Windsor location and introduced it to Interquest,” Schavietello stated.
“Our guests today are more sophisticated than a decade ago,” added MacBrayne. “They are better educated, and it is clear that the Baby Boomers and Gen Xers have taught the Millennials about food quality.” The new menu is 90% scratch with all of the sauces and ingredients prepared fresh daily and every meal prepared to order. Ingredients are sourced locally including using Aspen Ridge of Colorado for all beef dishes. Over a dozen appetizers; seven salads; ten sandwiches and burgers; pasta and classics for entrees; and the signature, hand tossed pizza made with pizza aficionados in mind have been added to the menu Homemade sides and decadent desserts complete the meal magnificently.
“We have learned from our Windsor location that great food and beverage is really the cornerstone to a great entertainment facility. We’ve adopted the phrase “Eatertainment” to signify our commitment to great food and drinks served in a fun, entertaining facility,” MacBrayne explained.
“The service has also been elevated,” Mike Marquez, General Manager said. “We’ve spent a considerable amount of time training our culinary staff of kitchen, bartenders and servers on our new products and engaging with the guests. We’re ready to really put on a show. Additionally, our new banquet menu brings new quality and variety to our previous offerings that our corporate and group clients are really going to love.”
The Summit is a 36 lane facility that is available for clubs, leagues and casual bowling. It also has a large 50-piece game room made for fun times including an awesome two-level Laser Tag.
“I’m a Colorado Springs native and have had the pleasure of serving our community for many years. The Summit’s “Eat*Drink*Play*Bowl” model along with the “Elevated Experience” is the best I’ve seen.” Marquez said.
