The Blue Canyon Boys’ bluegrass stands out among the Rocky Mountain Region’s finest.
Every once in a while, a band comes along that stands out amongst the crowded fields of the bluegrass world. The Blue Canyon Boys, a premier bluegrass band in the Rocky Mountain region, are one of those bands.
The Blue Canyon Boys are bound to drive audiences to their feet with the incredible brother-duet style vocals of Gary Dark and Jason Hicks, award-winning banjo styles of Chris Elliott, and mean bass slapping of veteran extraordinaire Drew Garrett.
While deeply rooted in the long history of bluegrass, they combine insightful originals and thoughtful arrangements into a new, hard-driving bluegrass style unique to the Blue Canyon Boys. With five well-received recordings (“Next Go ‘Round” 2013, “Mountain Bound” 2010, “House Full of Sorrow” 2009, “Hello City Limits” 2008, and “Just an Ol’ Dirt Road” 2005) that have garnered heavy airplay around the world and their win of the prestigious Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band competition in 2008, the Blue Canyon Boys have been steadily working their way into the hearts of bluegrass music lovers across the West. From the first sound of the hard driving banjo to the final rumble of the doghouse bass, the Blue Canyon Boys are sure to raise the roof of our little log concert hall in the woods.
