The Arc Pikes Peak Region, The Independence Center, and the Downtown Partnership are partnering to create a guided tour of the First Friday Art Walk in September, featuring art from people of all abilities.
Calling all artists and art lovers! The Independence Center and The Arc Pikes Peak Region have been invited to partner with the Colorado Springs Downtown Partnership’s First Friday Art Walk on September 1, for The Art of Accessibility.
This event is free and open to the public, and features new art, live music, and special events on the first Friday of every month from 5 to 8 p.m. at dozens of galleries, retailers, and nonprofits throughout Downtown Colorado Springs.
This special event will feature a guided tour, geared toward providing the Downtown Partnership with feedback from a variety of people with disabilities regarding the accessibility of the event. The Art of Accessibility event is an excellent opportunity to help create an inclusive atmosphere during the Downtown Partnership’s First Friday Art Walk. The guided tour will feature a facilitated focus group to provide feedback to the Downtown Partnership on the accessibility of the experience.
