Glen Eyrie Summer Concert Series presents Parish House Baroque, Colorado Springs’ Early Music Ensemble with Guest Soprano, Amanda Balestrieri, in a summer evening concert of love and loss on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 7:30 in the Great Hall.  English soprano Amanda Balestrieri’s singing has been described in the press as ‘unusually versatile,’ ‘gorgeous,’ ‘resplendent,’ ‘thrilling,’ and ‘absolutely divine.’   Harpsichordist, Eric Wicks, will perform on a beautiful and newly restored Flemish Double harpsichord.      The concert, entitled “The Flowering and Fading of Love”, will feature works by Italian baroque masters Corelli, Vivaldi, Marini, Ariosti, and Strozzi.    An elegant beverage reception on the Castle Terrace under the night sky will follow the concert.  Parish House Baroque specializes in the brilliance and diversity of music from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries through engaging and historically informed performances.
