Step back in time and discover the ideal Steampunk town – Victor, Colorado. The third annual Victor Steampunk Festival will be held April 24-26 with several events hosted by the Victor Lowell Thomas Museum (VLTM) as well as the Southern Teller County Focus Group (STCFG).
At 1 p.m. April 25 the STCFG will host Resurrection of the Rittenhouse, Saving Mining History. The tour, sponsored by the STCFG, is $10 per person and all proceeds go to the non-profit STCFG historic preservation and trails projects. CC&V staff and contractors will discuss how the collapsed Rittenhouse headframe was saved, moved, and refurbished at its new home on South 4th Street in Victor. Miner Gary Horton will also provide a historic overview and information on hoisting in the underground mines.
