The Heller Center for Arts & Humanities Presents: ...

Presented by Heller Center for Arts and Humanities at UCCS at UCCS - The Heller Center

The Peak FreQuency Creative Arts Collective, The Bottesini Project, Colorado’s premiere free improvisation ensemble, creates intricately woven, fully improvised compositions in a contemporary jazz-based setting. From this context, the music may take off to the fringes into a myriad of stylistic and sonic portals. The journey is the key – beautifully melodic, captivatingly rhythmic, Bottesini excels at harnessing the drama of risky experimental musical process into surprisingly accessible, powerful music for both select and mainstream audiences. Founded by Saxophonis Paul Riola, Bottesini has featured a range of world-renowned artists including Tortoise guitarist Jeff Parker, Wilco guitarist Nels Cline, DJ Olive, drummer Scott Amendola and trumpeter Ron Miles. The current lineup, together since, 2009 features a core group of world-class creative musicians from across the Front-Range, and including new arrival, saxophonist Aakash Mittal.
