Learn to use your external speedlight flash for your digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera. Based on the bestselling book Sculpting with Light, learn the basic physics of light, color of light, light modifiers, balancing different light sources whether indoors or outdoors and flash exposure through hands-on application, discussion and demonstration. Be able to use your external speedlight flash to create consistent and predictable lighting effects for portraits of all kinds. Also, learn how to develop, edit and retouch your final portraits via Photoshop. This is an all-inclusive capture-to-print class that will get you started creating beautiful portraits. A basic understanding of principles taught in Digital SLR 101 and Photoshop 101 is highly recommended. (though not necessary)

You will learn how to use your off camera flashes as taught from Ms Earnest’s successful photography books Sculpting with Light®: Techniques for Portrait Photographers and Light Modifiers; A digital guide to Sculpting with Light. that are used in photography schools around the United States. Take your photography to the next level…the professional level. You will also learn how to “devlop” your portraits in Photoshop and minor retouching.
