The Greenberg Center for Learning and Tolerance is proud to present “Colorado Welcomes Shaka Senghor” on Thursday, October 6 at 6 pm at the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs. The keynote address will begin promptly on the main stage at 6 pm, followed by a community Q&A session and book signing. We are honored to host Shaka’s first Colorado appearance!
Mr. Senghor is the best-selling author of Writing My Wrongs, TED Speaker, and prominent activist on mass incarceration and prison reform. He recently appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s Supersoul Sunday and has been featured on the CBS Morning Show, NPR, and PBS, in the NY Daily News, Huffington Post, Atlantic Magazine, Wired, and more.
The program is dedicated to raising awareness about criminal justice reform and to facilitating conversation among lawmakers, legal and judicial professionals, law enforcement, criminal justice advocates, community leaders, academia, youth and all citizens. This event is being held in conjunction with Pikes Peak Library District’s All Pikes Peak Reads 2016 theme Stories, which includes Shaka’s book on the recommended reading list.
