Chuck Asay, Colorado Cartoonist Extraordinaire

Presented by Pikes Peak Posse of the Westerners at Colorado Springs Masonic Center

Charles “Chuck” Asay is a conservative political cartoonist who says, “I have been inflicting my religious, right-wing, wacko views on people for over 30 years. I think its fun. We live in a free country where everyone is entitled to my opinion.”

Chuck will feature some of his “Colorado” creations, sharing some of the stories behind the drawings. He always welcomes questions, discussion, as well as…controversy! His award-winning views appear in publications across the country and he receives lots of hate mail.  “All this is good,” Asay says.

Chuck Asay was raised on a farm in the San Luis Valley, is a graduate of Adams State College in Alamosa, served in the U.S. Army and taught in the school system. He has been creating cartoons for over 50 years. While still cartooning, he is retired as a staff cartoonist for The Gazette. Previously, he also drew for the Colorado Springs Sun, Denver Post and The Taos News.

Chuck will have some of his books available for purchase at the book signing following program.

Program format is in a casual, buffet style dinner setting at a cost of $17. Reservations are suggested by Friday prior, 12 Noon.

We welcome visitors who enjoy Western history!
