Village Arts invites you to our upcoming fun-filled production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most popular comic opera, “The Pirates of Penzance, or The Slave of Duty.” Written in 1879, this colorful and fast-paced comedy has entertained generations and is still just as hilarious today! For grandparents, kids, and everyone in between, this is the perfect show for audiences of all ages! Benefit: A portion of all proceeds will go to support the arts programs of Pikes Peak Academy.
Tender-hearted pirates, bumbling British bobbies, giggling girls, and a modern Major General are all caught up in a rollicking adventure, complete with sword fights, love songs, an ingenious paradox, and a young pirate’s undying sense of duty! After its first successful runs of Cats in 2014 and West Side Story in 2015, Village Arts of Colorado Springs is ready for its third season of community theatre in Colorado Springs! Village Arts of Colorado Springs is a non-profit arts organization established to foster spiritual and artistic growth through involvement in the arts, while reflecting a Christian worldview. We are dedicated to creating excellent multi-generational performances—in music, dance, theatre, and the visual arts.
