Patrick Dougherty Installation Volunteer Projects ...

Presented by Green Box Arts Festival at Dorothy Conn Park

The annual Green Box Arts Festival will take place June 26 through July 4 in Green Mountain Falls. Along with its annual presentation of extraordinary dance, music and classes, this year we are pleased to announce an original commission by world-renowned installation artist Patrick Dougherty, known for sculptures made entirely of branches and tree saplings.

This year, Dougherty will bring his twisting, curling branch sculpture work to Green Mountain Falls – building a new site-specific installation for the Festival. Returning to Colorado for the first time since his 2008 installation at Colorado College, Dougherty’s new work will be completed by the opening day of the Festival and remain for one year.

The harvesting and construction of sticks and debris into Dougherty’s new sculpture will be supported by local volunteers, and aid in a flood mitigation effort in partnership with Colorado Springs Utilities, El Paso County and the Town of Green Mountain Falls.

Volunteers are needed to help with construction for Dougherty’s new installation.
