Black Rose Acoustic Society Open Stage headlined by Simultaneously traditional and innovative, New Time Ensemble weaves an articulate tapestry from the rugged threads of Irish
dance tunes. New Time Ensemble recorded their debut album at the Irish World Academy of Music in 2010 and has since toured Europe and the United States .Formed in Ireland while its members pursued advanced music degrees at the University of Limerick, New Time Ensemble emerged from a shared passion for animating tunes in new ways. Their instrumentation sets them apart. Cellist Liz Davis Maxfield, brings a non traditional cello to the mix As a classical flutist, Leslie Anne Harrison bridges the classical and traditional worlds, and guitarist and singer Frédéric Pouille, from France, contributes an unconventional, world music-informed accompaniment as well as finger picking melodies. Come hear old melodies with fresh legs in a new era.
