Learn to Fence

Presented by Front Range Fencing Club at Chinook Trail Elementary School

Have you ever wondered what the sport of fencing is all about? Fencing is one of the events in the Summer Olympic Games. Sign up today to learn more and take part in this unique sport. Fencing is the sport of swordplay. Fencers face off against one another not for blood or honor, but for points. Fencing requires strength, speed, balance, and a very sharp mind. Fair play and sportsmanship are essential. Instruction will be given by an enthusiastic and certified coaches from Front Range Fencing Club. Students will be trained on fencing safety and fundamentals in a group lesson. They will learn about the history of fencing and basic techniques of modern sword fighting (weapons have plastic blunted tips, nothing sharp) and then will bout against one another! We provide all fencing gear and protective equipment so all you need to enjoy fencing is long gym pants, gym shoes and a tee shirt.
