Africa Day is an annual event that celebrates the wonderful African continent and showcases its cultural diversity found on our campus. This year’s production will feature dance performances, bands, flag show, music, spoken word performances, and a dance contest for prizes that include African clothing (dashikis) and gift cards to local restaurants restaurants. There will be food from Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, South Africa, Egypt and Senegal. This would also provide a venue for students and community members who have not had an opportunity to interact with African culture to do so in a safe and fun environment. Thus, Africa Day will help students who are part of the diaspora and allies celebrate our beautiful culture while also informing and showcasing talents from all over the continent.
