Post-Capitalist Imaginations from Latin America

Post-Capitalist Imaginations from Latin America

at Mountain Fold Books

Mountain Fold Books presents a “show and tell” of various forms of subversive literature from the other America.

In this informal talk, professor Luis Othoniel Rosa will share various Latin American cases of experimental subversive literature: the writings of Subcomandante Marcos, the “loud-reading” in factories of the anarcho-feminist Luisa Capetillo, the “economies” of poetry groups in Puerto Rico, the effects on readers of Roberto Bolaño’s novels, and the decolonizing world view of the bolivian writer Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui, among others.  The goal of the talk will be to start a conversation based on the presentation of literary cases of a “postcapitalist imagination.”
