Leila Josefowicz and John Novacek presented by Colorado College Summer Music Festival at Colorado College - Packard Hall, Colorado Springs CO

Leila Josefowicz and John Novacek

Presented by Colorado College Summer Music Festival at Colorado College - Packard Hall

Legendary violinist Leila Josefowicz has a busy spring touring schedule. From Toronto, to Madrid, to London, and then to our own Packard Hall in Colorado Springs, it is no surprise that this powerhouse performer is the most recent recipient of the lauded Avery Fisher Prize.

Past winners of the $100,000 prize – one of the highest accolades in classical music – include Yo-Yo Ma, Midori, and Joshua Bell.

Josefowicz has collaborated with CC Summer Music Festival faculty member John Novacek since 1985, and the pair have performed in renowned venues all over the world.

This concert will feature works by Sibelius, Prokofiev, Mahler, Zimmermann, and the recently deceased Oliver Knussen, with whom Josefowicz enjoyed a close working relationship.

We are thrilled and honored to host such special guests, and we can’t wait to share this start to our 35th anniversary season.
