Our annual Gala and Fall Production this year will be full of entertainment, laughter, and ice cream!
Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social
The Gala will start off delicious ice cream and toppings, donated from local businesses, along with musical entertainment!
‘The Importance of Being Earnest’
Following the Ice Cream Social, guests will sit down and enjoy the featured presentation of The Importance of Being Earnest, by Oscar Wilde.
In this riotous bit of fun in which everyone takes every silly thing far too seriously, we are taking all stuffy British manners with one lump of sugar or two and a little finger held aloft! The Importance of Being Earnest, by Oscar Wilde, is a bit of satire set in 1890’s England.
Two men—one from the country and another from the city—are friends who each fall in love with women the other disapproves of, because each knows the other to be not entirely good enough to marry his damsel. Neither is truthful nor entirely honest in his pursuit of the perfect woman, but they discover the vital importance of being earnest (or Ernest!), as each vows to change his name for love of the elusive lady.
By purchasing your ticket, you are supporting Village Arts! There will also be other opportunities to support us through our first-ever Silent Auction which will be held throughout the evening.
