The Palmer Lake Historical Society invites the public to a presentation on culturally modified trees found in the local area.  Many trees have been discovered throughout the country that were modified many years ago by Native American Indians for various purposes.  Some trees pointed the way to water or geographical points of significance, some served as an early form of GPS by directing travelers to trail systems, while others held spiritual and ceremonial meaning.  The ancestors of the Ute
