Trains in Ute Pass
The Palmer Lake Historical Society presents local author Mel McFarland, who will discuss some of the trains that travelled the Pass from the late 1800s to the 1970s. The well-known railroads through the pass were the Colorado Midland Railway, which ran from Colorado City to the mines in Leadville and Aspen, and later the Midland Terminal Railway, which connected Divide with Cripple Creek. However, there were other railroads that travelled Ute Pass, including a wandering caboose or two!
