Traditional Hot Pot Dinner for Lantern Festival 慶祝元宵節火鍋
The Colorado Springs Chinese Cultural Institute is celebrating the Chinese Lantern Festival on Saturday, February 11 at 6 p.m. at the Manitou Art Center.
The Chinese Hot Pot has a history of more than 1,000 years and originated in Mongolia and the Jin Dynasty where the main ingredient was meat, usually beef or pork. It then spread to southern China during the Song Dynasty and was further established during the Mongolian Yuan Dynasty.
