Pioneer Wolfe was a participant in the Pikes Peak gold rush and settled on Cheyenne Creek adjacent to the Rev. William Howbert homestead.  His ranch was subdivided starting in the 1880s. He later opened a Cripple Creek gold mining company.  The Harlan family was neighbors of the Wolfe family.  Harlan men were masons,and owned their own brickyard.  The families (Harlan and Wolfe) donated the house and remaining land to the
