R ajahatha is the combination of two types of yoga. Raja Yoga is based on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras of which the main focus is calming the mind. Hatha Yoga is the physical practices of yoga with a focus on preparing the body and mind for Raja Yoga.
In this workshop we will explore how yoga has transformed from a mainly contemplative practice with very few postures as little as 200 years ago to today’s physically intense practice that focuses on an endless array of postures.
