You are invited to a painting party and silent auction FUNdraiser benefiting the WCLI program with Leadership Pikes Peak!
The Women’s Community Leadership Initiative (WCLI) offers up to 30 women the chance to unlock their potential to make a difference; through knowing their community better, meeting community leaders and understanding local channels of decision-making, and practicing and refining their own leadership skills. WCLI is open to women of diverse backgrounds; it is offered every year from January to June.
The program offers women of many backgrounds and often modest income a chance to know their community better, meet community leaders and understand local channels of decision-making, and practice and refine their own leadership skills. The end result: more knowledge of what’s going on, what to do about it, how to do it, and who to talk to in order to get started.
In addition to class time, team activities, personal exploration, visits to important organizations in the community, and meetings with influential community leaders; each class also has the opportunity to work in groups with local nonprofits and agencies to complete valuable strategic projects that help those organizations do their work in the community.
The idea of all of it: a deeper understanding of yourself, a deeper understanding of your community, and a deeper understanding of how you can make a difference in your community.
Class members gain:
Knowledge of formal and informal decision-making channels within the community
A broad view of critical community issues
An opportunity to practice and refine leadership skills
An introduction to key community leaders and the opportunity to network
