Lantern Construction and Parade- SCAMP 2

Come create a lantern out of recycled materials and then use it during the Lantern Parade!

Lantern construction will take place during SCAMP (Summer Community Art and Mural Program), 9-noon, m-f. Monday will take place at our office, 224 E Vermijo, the small brick building East of the Independent Newspaper. Tuesday-Friday will take place at the Colorado Springs Pioneer Museum. 

Bring a flashlight or headlamp to illuminate your lantern. We are also looking for elemers glue, plastic bottles, wire, and tissue paper. 

All are welcome to come and make a lantern! It is a great project for older people and families. Kids under 12 need an adult. 

SCAMP is drop in, but you will take the most out of it if you come every day. 

The Lantern Parade will take place on July 3rd from 7:30-9 pm. We will start at the Pioneer Museum, march down Tejon, and end with music in Acacia Park.
