David Quammen is an author and journalist whose 15 books include “The Song of the Dodo” (1996), “The Reluctant Mr. Darwin” (2007), “Spillover” (2012) and most recently “Yellowstone: A Journey through America’s Wild Heart” (2016).

He wrote the May 2016 special issue of National Geographic on the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem—the first time in the history of the magazine that a single author wrote the text of an entire issue. Quammen is a three-time recipient of the National Magazine Award and, in 2012, he received the Stephen Jay Gould Prize from the Society for the Study of Evolution.
