The Garden of the Gods is considered one of the first technical rock climbing areas in the United States, with routes established by Colorado College professor Albert Ellingwood as early as 1910.

This program discusses the origins of climbing at the Garden, its development as one of Colorado’s most famous climbing areas, and some of the colorful and famous climbers who began climbing here.
