History Along the Hogbacks by Don Ellis presented by Pikes Peak Posse of the Westerners at Masonic Grand Lodge, Colorado Springs CO

Don Ellis will examine surviving evidence of historic activity along the hogbacks west and south of the original Colorado City. This will include an illustrated literal tour of hogback area enterprises from before the first settlement, up through the creation of Red Rock Canyon Open Space, which now includes much of the area. Topics include: Ute fortifications, quarries, mines, the Bear Creek water line, Palmer Boulevard and the Bock family.
