Geology Hike with Jay Temple
Hiking through the Garden of the Gods presents a unique opportunity to understand not only the geology of the Garden but the general geology of the entire Front Range from northern New Mexico to southern Wyoming. The rocks exposed in and around the Garden and the crustal forces responsible for their geometric configurations are a microcosm of Colorado geology. Please join us for a pleasant hike and visual understanding of these beautiful geologic features. This guided hike will last about 2 hours and will be approximately 2-4 miles. Participants should dress for the weather, with appropriate footwear for hiking. We recommend bringing water, snacks, sunscreen and a hat. We will meet in the Red Rocks Room at the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center, then walk into the park.

Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center is pleased to present the Garden of the Gods Gateway Adventure Series. The series will feature the top naturalists, interpreters, historians and many special guests to present an array of exciting presentations, demonstrations, walks and hikes. The series will inform and educate the community on the many unique aspects of Garden of the Gods Park while encouraging environmental awareness of this National Natural Landmark.
Proceeds benefit the park through the Garden of the Gods Foundation.
