Community educational discussions on the origins and purpose of Kwanzaa

There are community educational discussions on the origins and purpose of Kwanzaa in the Carnegie Room of the Penrose Library. Each discussion will include a viewing of “The Black Candle,” a landmark documentary narrated by renowned poet, Maya Angelou. This is also a great opportunity for our youth and educators to obtain valuable information on the importance of this cultural celebration.
