Youth Documentary Academy is looking for students who are interested in using film and storytelling to amplify issues in our community (including but not limited to race, gender, stereotyping, bullying, teen suicide prevention, disability, sexual assault, and LGBT issues among others.)
As the Youth Documentary Academy nears it’s five-year anniversary, they are excited to announce a huge development: YDA will be producing a new public television series featuring the films and voices of YDA students and graduates (past and present.)
Given this news, the summer programming team is developing a special class for the academy this summer. High school students, ages 14 to 18, will learn how to produce, distribute and promote a youth documentary tv series while creating

The Youth Documentary Academy’s seven-week Summer fellowship is worth over $3500, and offered completely free to selected students. Students ages 14-18 must submit the online application before April 1st to be considered for one of twelve spots this Summer (June 1 through July 20).
