Judy Applegarth loves to share her non-traditional encaustic art on paper. Her works embrace bold movements of color with wax and ink. Almost musical. Music played a strong part in her background starting back to the age of 7 with playing keyboards, violin and the flute. As time went by Judy has lost partial hearing and her desire to illustrate the music through her art. Each of her contemporary encaustic monotypes bring a tempo of movement, bold imagery and transparent colors to life. Although she may be self-taught artist, she has enjoyed teaching mixed media art and writing tutorials for publications for many years.
Bob Falcone is a Colorado Springs based freelance writer, photographer and podcaster, focusing on outdoor recreation. A longtime resident of Colorado Springs, he is involved in outdoor recreation as a member of both city and county government boards that advise on outdoor recreation. A retired firefighter, Bob can often be found on a hiking trail almost anywhere in the southwestern US.
Suz Stovall passionately explores color through vibrating color fields and thin, spontaneous line. Stovall’s abstract works invite the viewer to look deeply and enjoy the visual feast of color. “My current work is spontaneous and joyful, exploring color, composition and design.” Suz is a University-trained artist, having studied graphics and painting at the University of Memphis. As a full time studio artist she was an award-winning ceramicist winning numerous awards in some of the most prestigious shows.
Jim Van Hoy is a fine art photographer in Colorado Springs who has won numerous photography awards up and down the Front Range and in Michigan. Most of Jim’s work centers on landscapes of the southwest. He adds macro (close-up) work, particularly of wildflowers, and has been known to add digital textures to photos. As his personal vision has developed, black & white photography has become more important.
