Artist Statement: City Perspectives

Painting cities has been an interest of mine and although I am a decent draftsman I never had the maths skills to be an architect. However, painting cities allows for a freedom of dimension, perspective, shadow, distance and imagination. In doing so, I can create images of impressions of slices of metropolitan life. My goal is to capture the essence of the form and sometimes abstract qualities of said places. Some of my city paintings are of actual locations and others are from inside my mind.
