In the 1930’s the Midland Terminal was looking for a quicker, easier way to get mail, small freight items and people to and from Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek. This story presents the solution.
Besides being a railroad historian, Mel McFarland is a Colorado Springs native, author, artist and retired middle school teacher who has written several books on the subject of railroading in the Pikes Peak region. His titles include:
