Being an artist was never a career choice but an absolute need in me to create. I am filled with a sense of purpose and wholeness when I tend to this need and absolute disconnection when I don’t. When I work in clay I am reminded that there is beauty in everything. I feel magic in wet clay and the way it responds to my hands. While I sculpt, my clay comes alive, taking a life of it’s own, and I don’t see myself so much as the one creating, as much as the one facilitating the story that wants to be told. I am drawn to the sacred, beauty, the feminine, relationship, children, and flowers. My only desire as an artist is to create work that not only wants to be touched and held, but work that will touch and hold all: the brokenness, the glorious, the soulful and divine.
